Four great stars. One nonstop binge of gasps and giggles. Nothing but Trouble is a loony bin where Beetlejuice meets National Lampoon's Vacation. Chevy Chase (National Lampoon's Vacation, Fletch), Demi Moore (Ghost), John Candy (Uncle Buck, Only the Lonely) and Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters, Driving Miss Daisy) are nothing but uproarious in Nothing but Trouble, written and directed by Aykroyd. Welcome to Valkenvania, the Twilight Zone of speed traps. One wrong turn off the New Jersey Turnpike and yuptight stock market whiz chase and investment lawyer Moore are there. One minor driving violation and they're hauled off by Valkenvania's finest (Candy) to the part-courtroom, part booby-trap funhouse of 106-year old Justice of the Peace Alvin Valkenheiser (Aykroyd). The irascible judge has many skeletons in his closet (literally). a grudge against 'bankers" and extremely bizarre ways to mete out the punishment of the law. From frying pan to fire, Nothing but Trouble (showcasing Aykroyd and Candy in two tasty roles each) is gothic comedy at its ghoulish best.
