If it's Blake Edwards' spicy comedy of manners, morals and mid-life crises, you're in luck. On a laughter scale, 10 hits the top. it's a film of many moods, sometimes sexy, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes slapstick - but always on target. That target is 42-year-old composer George Webber (Dudley Moore), a man who has everything and is in danger of chucking it all in a distractedly obsessive quest for a beautiful woman he glimpses en route to her wedding. That doesn't stop George, and neither does a side-splitting series of misadventures from a bee sting on the nose to a shark attack off the Mexican coast. How George endures and eventually prevails steers 10 well clear of the dangers of farce. Moore, who began with this film a series of comedy hits (including Arthur and Edwards' Micki and Maude) that shot him to the forefront of contemporary stars, romps through his awkward-age role with a precise mix of adult anxiety and adolescent zeal. Julie Andrews returned to films after a significant absence as George's girl friend Samantha, the real love of his life, and signalled the fire and wit of he Victor/Victoria triumph three years later. But for many, the big news in 10 is Bo Derek, who George rates "at least 12." Most audiences rated her a "wow," and 10 launched her as the first big sex star of the '80's. One more thing is certain. 10 is a personal triumph for Edwards. The director of Breakfast at Tiffany's and days of Wine and Roses and seven successful Pink Panthers has created one of his richest, most fully realized works. Starring Dudley Moore, Julie Andrews and Bo Derek. Color/Approx. 123 mins.

On the streets of Tulsa in 1966, teenagers come two ways. If you're a "soc." you've got it all - money, cars, a future. But if you're a "greaser," you're an outsider with nothing but your friends...and a dream that someday, somehow, you''ll finally belong. The Outsiders is Francis Coppola's powerful film of S.E.Hinton's classic youth novel. With lyrical imagery and dramatic intensity, Coppola captures the emotional essence of Hinton's story and shows how it really feels to be caught between childhood's innocence and adulthood's disillusionment.
